Socialite Peaches Geldof says she has met The Twilight Saga: New Moon star several times, and has has many conversations with him. She says he is really intelligent. According to nowmagazine.co.uk, Geldof says: "I'm really into R-Patz. I've met him on numerous occasions." She continued: "I was chatting to him about movies. He's really intelligent and he has surreal taste in movie directors. People don't see that side of him because the Twilight thing has become so big."

In other Pattinson news, the New Moon star was named as the Sugarscape Man of the Year 2009. They say of Pattinson: "

"When the Twilight frenzy swept us all off our feets, we couldn't help but stare endlessly at photos of Rob for days on end, or watch any video footage we could get hold of to hear his voice...Okay, so we may be a tad obsessed, but it's a healthy obsession - right?!"

Shut up, Peaches. Quit name dropping for attention.
Robert Pattinson just can't seem to escape all the rumors about his love life. In perhaps the most ridiculous one yet, gossip blog Janet Charltons Hollywood is reporting that hard partying singer Amy Winehouse has her 'eye' on the British hunk.

The site claims that Amy Winehouse has “developed a crush" on Pattinson and that she “finds him and the idea of vampires incredibly sexy.” Saying that Winehouse loves vampires so much that she's “threatening to have a vampire-themed blowout”

Gossip Cop, a site that is known for "busting bad dish" says this story is just that, a story. Gossip Cop claims there is no truth to the Winehouse/Pattinson rumors.

31st-Dec-2009 02:46 pm - Sonstein Sunday w/Bryce Dallas Howard
Bryce Dallas Howard on Sonstein Sunday talking about her latest film "The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond".
Listen to "Sonstein Sunday" every Sunday at 7am on New York's Classic Rock Station, Q104.3FM or online at htttp://www.q1043.com
When actress Bryce Dallas Howard casually mentions both her father and her son in a phone interview, it takes a minute to make the leap to – Ron Howard is a grandfather? Opie is .. Gramps? But that’s just part of the reality for Howard, 28, who stars in “The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond,” which opens today (12.30.09) in limited release. The film, which also stars Chris Evans, Ellen Burstyn and Ann-Margret, is the feature directing debut of actress Jodie Markell – and has a script that’s an unproduced screenplay by the late Tennessee Williams.
In “Teardrop Diamond,” Howard plays debutante Fisher Willow, who elevates working-class Jimmy (Evans) to beau status, to attend the season’s balls in Memphis during the 1920s. It’s a character easily identifiable as Williams’, yet with a difference.

Howard, who broke through in M. Night Shymalan’s “The Village” in 2004, spoke recently in a telephone interview about playing one of Tennessee Williams’ resilient blossoms, as well as about having a famous father.

the interview )
Legendary writer Tennessee Williams is widely considered the most important American playwright of the post-WWII era, with many of his classic plays, including A Streetcar Named Desire and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, adapted into classic films. The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond is a rediscovered original screenplay from the 1950s, that has been brought to life by first time director Jodie Markell and actress Bryce Dallas Howard.

The daughter of successful actor-turned-director Ron Howard, Bryce has already developed quite a name for herself, working in some of the biggest film franchises (The Twilight Saga, Terminator, Spider-Man) and with some of the most intriguing filmmakers (Sam Raimi, M. Night Shyamalan, Lars von Trier, Kenneth Branagh, McG and now Clint Eastwood).

During the press day for The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond, Bryce Dallas Howard talked about the experience of adding Tennessee Williams heroine to her resume and a lot more:

Is being a Tennessee Williams heroine a genre unto itself?

Bryce: It is. I really valued going through his canon of work and studying the great performances that had already been captured on celluloid and reading about the great theatrical performances because, in my opinion, he was a very singular writer and he had particular themes that it seems he was consistently fascinated by. There’s an iconic Williams female character that you see elements of, over and over and over again, which is a woman ahead of her time, who’s being suffocated by the world and who’s too bright, too clever and too sensitive to really survive and feel grounded. So, to go through and watch Blanche DuBois and Maggie the Cat, who are these really iconic characters that he had created, and steal, to be honest, was something that was helpful to me.

When you were watching those various performances, did you try to mimic the way they spoke at all?

Bryce: No, not that so much. We had this wonderful gentleman, Tim Monich, who was really helpful with the dialect.

What was that like to adapt your acting, in scenes with so many words?

Bryce: I come from a little bit of a theatrical background. I started that way. I don’t have a tremendous body of work or anything, but I went to drama school. And so, to get to do a piece where the characters get to talk a lot, and that isn’t just about the spectacle or the set piece, or is simply visual or movement based. It was really wonderful for me, and juicy and exciting. So, I didn’t feel like there needed to be an adaptation to a different kind of style. It’s just that the characters are speaking their mind. As opposed to it just being an expression, they’re actually saying what’s on their mind, and that’s something that Tennessee Williams is really famous for. Shakespeare does that and Tennessee Williams does that. You crave that, when you’re an actor, for sure.

How did you go about approaching this in such a grounded way?

Bryce: I didn’t consciously do that. I was always on set asking for line readings.

What was it like to work with Chris Evans?

Bryce: Chris comes from a theater background as well and he really values rehearsal. It was such a relief to work with him because usually I feel like I’m the one harassing people to do it again, and he was right there. We’d rehearse pretty consistently until four in the morning. It’s a very nuanced relationship. There’s this shift in dominant-submissive that keeps happening throughout the film. This is Tennessee Williams. We wanted to do our best and give it our best go. I just felt really lucky to work with him, for that reason. I remember looking on the monitor one day, and I was like, “Oh, my God, he looks like Paul Newman.” There’s something classic about him. He has this classic, strong, leading man presence, and is just such a wonderful person as well.

Clint Eastwood, who you will be working with next on Hereafter, is an actor who became a director, Jodie Markell, your director on this film, is an actor who became a director and you grew up with a father (Ron Howard) who was an actor that became a director. Is there a certain comfort zone, or a certain sense that you can communicate in a different way with a director who has been on your side of the camera?

Bryce: I couldn’t answer that, just because I’m not a director. But, working with directors whose history is in performance, I feel like there’s a different kind of focus, as opposed to directors who are more prone to being really technically proficient or visual. I feel like there are two schools of both, and a director needs to have both. Jodie has both, for sure. I felt really, really supported, in terms of my performance. When I had questions or when she was directing me, there was an approach that was coming from a psychological place because she’s an actor, and so she knows how to speak that language. Kenneth Branagh was the same way. M. Night Shyamalan is the same way. And, that’s highly effective, for a number of reasons.

What is the best advice that your father ever gave you, as an actor, and the best advice he ever gave you, from a directorial standpoint?

Bryce: The best advice he gave me was that, if there was anything else I could do, to do that. You need to not be able to do anything else, to be in this business. If you have other options, in those unemployed moments, those other options will take precedent. From a directorial standpoint, I think it’s really Freudian, the amount of trust I have in filmmakers because I have such a trusting relationship with my dad. He’s such a mentor to me. He has never let me down, as a person. He just hasn’t. And, that’s translated for me with filmmakers. I have an association that director means total authority. Director means they will never let you down. Director means just trust them and fulfill their vision, and know that the story will be told in its best incarnation. I’ve always felt really lucky to get to work with really great filmmakers. For me, the whole objective is just to hopefully be of service to what they want. In his persona, that’s been the advice that he hasn’t directly said, but I’ve understood.

The actor and the country music singer were allegedly often involved in arguments about picking restaurants for date nights because they have different health lifestyle. Following report that Taylor Lautner and Taylor Swift ended their romance, an insider has revealed an issue that was said causing the break-up. Speaking to National Enquirer, the insider said the pair could not agree over food as they have different health lifestyle.

Lautner who is "a health nut" and has exercise regularly is said in the exact opposite of Swift who "hates the gym, takes only occasional yoga classes." Moreover, the "Twilight" hunk reportedly follows an ultra strict diet while the country music singer is allegedly anti diet.

Regarding food choice, the insider stated Swift's favorite restaurant is "the Cracker Barrel near her family's Henderson, Tenn., home and her favorite dish is their biscuits and gravy" in addition to cheeseburgers and some sweet foods. In contrary, "Lautner is very athletic and health-conscious, so he eats mostly low-fat protein like skinless chicken breasts, egg whites and vegetables and fruits."

Thus, the pair reportedly often argued about where they were going to have meal during their date nights. Additionally, the insider further claimed, "The only food option they can agree on is sushi."

Taylor Lautner and Taylor Swift, who played coy about their special relationship, reportedly called it quits earlier December. "There was no chemistry," a source told Us Magazine about the twosome, who was said deciding to be friends.

31st-Dec-2009 02:29 pm - Robert Pattinson's Twilight crush
Robert Pattinson auditioned for 'Twilight' because he had a crush on Kristen Stewart.

The heartthrob actor - who played vampire Edward Cullen in the hit movie franchise based on the best-selling book by Stephenie Meyer - admits his main motivation to win the role was getting to know the actress, who had already been cast as love interest Bella Swann.

He said: "I read the script and I barely knew that they were books too. The only reason I went to the audition was to see Kristen, because I'd just seen 'Into The Wild'.

"Of course I had a crush on her but we are just very good friends."

Robert - who has denied claims he and Kristen are enjoying a secret romance - insists he is single and on the lookout for a new girlfriend but doesn't have a type.

He said: "I am young, free and single. I like people being forward. Gosh, I don't know. I like strong people, chiselled abs? I take what I can get."

Bryce Dallas Howard has made a name for herself by playing roles originally played by someone else. She played Grace Margeret Mulligan in MANDERLAY (Nicole Kidman originated the character in DOGVILLE), Kate Connor in TERMINATOR: SALVATION (originated by Clair Danes in TERMINATOR 3: RISE OF THE MACHINES), and she will take over the role of Victoria (originally played by Rachelle Lefevre) in THE TWILIGHT SAGA: ECLIPSE, which will be released in June of 2010.

In THE LOSS OF A TEARDROP DIAMOND, she will play a character never before seen. The film, which opens today in limited release, was written for the screen by playwright Tennessee Williams.

The film, set in the 1920s, tells the story of Southern debutante Fisher Willow. As the free-spirited daughter of a plantation owner, she falls in love with Jimmy Dobyne (Chris Evans), a poor boy who works for her parents. Fisher convinces Jimmy to be her escort to society functions, trying to pass him off as upper class, but when she loses a teardrop diamond earring, accusations and lies threaten their relationship.

Head on over to MTV.com to hear Howard’s feelings about “originating a Tennessee Williams heroine” and how the birth of her son helped her prepare for the role.

Once proposed to be the third collaboration between Williams and director Elia Kazan (A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE, BABY DOLL). THE LOSS OF A TEARDROP DIAMOND is directed by Jodie Markell. Howard’s co-stars include Ellen Burstyn, Chris Evans, Will Patton, and Ann-Margret. The film opens in limited release today.

As Movieline spends so much time telling you what we made of 2009, why not occasionally cede the microphone to others in Hollywood? Actor Billy Burke is the latest to try his hand at a Fave Five — you may know him from his role as Kristen Stewart’s father in the Twilight Saga (though after seeing Feast of Love, I’ll always imagine him naked and slapping around Radha Mitchell), and in addition to the upcoming installment Eclipse, he’s got the lead in 2010 indies Highland Park and Luster. Still, we’re getting ahead of ourselves by looking forward; before 2010 rolls around, what did Billy think were the pop culture highlights of 2009?
Parks And Recreation
“One of the most grossly underrated network shows in ages. The writers for this ass-kick fest deserve their own category and I would like to give the entire cast a “Kaboom” kiss. (Those in the know will know.)”

Tiger Woods
“Poor Tiger took the bullet for the other less famous saps on the PGA tour who’ve been doing the same.”

Swine Flu
“I always find it entertaining to watch the populous freak out about another ‘boogeyman.’”

Whitney Houston stroking her American Music Award
“This one speaks for itself. In one Freudian move, she managed to sum up what the AMA’s are actually good for.”

President Obama taking a peek at a Brazilian chick’s ass
“Yesss! A human being in the Oval Office again. Go Barack. We got ur ‘back.’”

iVillage made a list of women who ruled movies in 2009.

Kristen Stewart in 'The Twilight Saga: New Moon'

She's got the power: In New Moon, Kristen Stewart's Bella is torn between two impossible loves, a vampire and a werewolf. What's a mortal teenager to do? Thanks to this supernatural sequel to 2008's Twilight, the cute shy girl is back in vogue just when the pop culture landscape is cluttered with brassy Hannah Montana types. And give it up for Stewart: the 19-year-old strives to avoid the limelight, despite being linked to swoon-worthy co-star Robert Pattinson.

31st-Dec-2009 12:35 pm - Kristen Stewart as Solara
Imagine Kristen in this outfit!Isn't it fierce?!

Does anyone know about the movie called The Book of Eli w/c star Danzel Washington?I just read that Kristen Stewart was the first choice for the role Solara, then Kristen turned it down due to conflict schedule , at that time she is going to shoot New Moon which has the same shooting schedule for The Book of Eli.
Eventually, the role went to Mila Kunis (ironically they kinda resemblance each other).I just wish that it had a different schedule because I want Kristen to work with Danzel Washington, plus the role is kinda different we can see different side of Kristen.

I hope you all are enjoying your holidays! Just a quick update about a book—arriving in bookstores tomorrow!—that I'm very excited about: The Lonely Hearts Club by Elizabeth Eulberg. If you've ever been out to one of my signings, chances are you've already met this debut author. If you haven't, but you've read the acknowledgements in any of my books, you've been introduced to her there. Elizabeth has been the publicist for my books from the very beginning, and has (clearly) done an amazing job. She's also worked with scads of other YA authors. Now her own YA novel is coming out and I'm so proud of her. Well done, Lizzy! I look forward to reading more from you soon!

Sure, he looks foul-smelling, but would you believe Twilight star Robert Pattinson is really "incredibly hygienic"? So hygienic, in fact, that he's a threat to himself and his teeth? It's true, claims his Eclipse co-star Bryce Dallas Howard! When we ran into her at the recent New York premiere of her new movie, the Tennessee Williams–scripted The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond (out today), she told us about her first brush with Rob: "I actually came out to him that I was totally nervous about [meeting him]," said Howard, who will replace Rachelle Lafevre as evil vampire Victoria in next year's Twilight 3. "He’s such a sweet young man, and there’s such a distinctive difference between him and Edward Cullen. He does such a wonderful job embodying that character, and bringing that character to life. But when you meet him, he’s such a down-to-earth, humble person, you feel bad freaking out around him."

"But what does he smell like?" we inquired. "Actually, he’s incredibly hygienic," Howard insisted. "He told me this story that made me crack up. He was like, 'Oh, I have to go to the dentist.' And I was like, 'Oh no, what happened? Just a check-up?' And he was like, 'No, I chipped a tooth.' And I was like, 'How?' And he was like, ‘Flossing.’ Who does that? I don’t even floss. So he’s hygienic. Trust me."
